Synopsis


Introducing Hyun Bin as Ri Jeong-hyeok and Son Ye-jin as Yoon Se-ri, Crash Landing On You is a love story about a South Korean heiress and North Korean army officer. A paragliding adventure that goes wrong lands Yoon Se- Ri in North Korea, literally into the arms of Ri Jeong-hyeok. Instead of handing her over to the authorities, he decides to hide her and help her go back to South Korea, and here starts a story that will make you laugh, cry and pray for them to be together somehow, despite the impossible circumstances.

1. It’s a romantic comedy between two completely opposite people

She is bold, beautiful, and intelligent. He is serious, reserved, and deeply affected by a family tragedy. They don’t realize it initially, but their pasts are connected, so you will enjoy how they fall in love.

The characters in the show undergo significant personal growth and development throughout the story. They face challenges and learn important lessons that make them more complex and relatable.


3. The sidekicks are so funny, you’ll have a great time laughing at their jokes

The friendships that grow on this show are golden. The soldiers under Ri Jeong-hyeok's command clearly share a strong friendship with one another. It's fun to watch each of them meet and grow closer to Seri. There is a true love and loyalty between them all that grows throughout the series. I also love the female friendships that develop between Seri and the villagers she meets. After their shaky and unfaithful beginnings, a true friendship develops between them. You will love how they help the couple. 


4. It’s extremely entertaining to observe the contrasting lifestyle of North Korea and South Korea

The show offers a glimpse into North Korean culture and traditions, which are not often portrayed in Western media. The show also explores the cultural differences between North and South Korea and how they impact the characters' lives.


5. The drama 

The drama is full of plot twists and turns that keep viewers engaged and wanting more. The show keeps you guessing and has a few unexpected surprises that make it a thrilling watch.

Be it Seung-jun confessing how he felt about having Seo Dan in his life, rooting for him during his worst time, or when he showed how ready he was to lay down his life for Seo Dan when she got abducted by people who were chasing Seung-jun, the truth of how he felt for Seo Dan came through brilliantly.

Seo Dan too was not left far behind, she also confessed her feelings for Seung-jun when she thought that he was going to die. After all, he did get shot twice in his torso in an effort to keep Seo Dan safe. So when things calm down Seo Dan wants to get revenge for all that happened to Seung-jun.


Overall, "Crash Landing On You" is a well-written, well-acted, and visually stunning show that offers a unique perspective on love and culture. It has something for everyone and is definitely worth checking out.
