Use of Psychedelics
Today I am going to share with you some of the reasons why I believe that these substances can help in the treatment of some mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress.
Psychedelics are substances that alter the perception, mood, and thinking of people who consume them. Some examples are psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms), MDMA (also known as ecstasy or Molly), and ketamine (an anesthetic with hallucinogenic effects).
These substances have therapeutic potential because they can promote profound and transformative experiences in people who use them under medical supervision and with psychological support. These experiences can help people to face their traumas, to change their negative beliefs about themselves and the world, and to generate a greater connection with their own essence and with others.
Scientific research on psychedelics has come a long way in recent years, after decades of prohibition and stigma. Several studies have shown that psychedelics can be effective in reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress in people who have not responded to other conventional treatments. Also, these effects can last for months or even years after a single session or a few sessions.
Of course, psychedelics are not a silver bullet or foolproof solution to all problems. They are also not recreational substances that can be consumed without caution or responsibility. Psychedelics require a proper context, prior preparation, and post-monitoring to ensure their safety and efficacy. In addition, they are not suitable for all people or for all situations.
Therefore, it is important to be well informed before deciding whether or not to try psychedelic therapy. There are many reliable sources where you can learn more about this topic.
Thank you so much for making such an informative post. I agree with you completely in that psychedelics can have therapeutic uses. As a matter of fact, if you dig deeper into indigenous folklore, you will find that these substances were used by shamans and medicine men to diagnose and help alleviate different diseases, including mental ones.
ResponderBorrarAs for me, the first experience I had with Ayahuasca was with a group of psychologists who were using them as a way for people to cope with their own problems, anxieties, trauma and more. I still remember that after each session (generally carried out at night), they would have us all share our experiences in the morning so that we could interpret what we had seen, felt and heard. It was such an enlightening and eye-opening experience, as we all realized we were all hurting before, but after our ingesting the psychedelic brew, we all had a chance to resolve and let go of those obstacles hindering our own growth.
I can't recommend it enough. However, I also know that psychedelics aren't for everyone. They should be respected.

ResponderBorrarIt is a good idea to think that psychedelics can help treat certain types of cases, but the only problem that I find in this situation is that it can become addictive, for that reason I consider that it is a good proposal to be taken care of during the process.
